Technology for elderly

During six years, the Swedish Goverment has supported the development of products and services that can assist elderly people and their relatives in everyday life. The Technology for Elderly programme is coordinated by the Swedish Institute of Assistive Technology.

100 projects received support from Technolgy for Elderly 2007–2010. For the period 2010–2012, the Government has reserved an addition of 66 SEK million (approximately 6,97 EUR million). Companies, organisations and local government authorities can apply for project funding in this area through two applications which are open twice during the period. Also, three municipal pilot projects will be initiated during 2011. The objective is to test and develop new technology for elderly in their homes.
